What is involved in recovering from a disaster? What is the accountability in terms of system crash or software / upgrade - customization?
-
We have observed that most Linux system crashes are related to hardware errors (disk errors, card failures, RAM etc). However in case the server does crash, the recovery 'process' is not very different from the Windows system recovery process, in which Backups forms a very important role. These should have been taken consistently (Connect XF provides a disaster recovery backup which maps all the essential resources and in case of a crash, all it requires is a reinstall and a restore). To help further, there are built in utilities in Linux and also immense support available on the web to help recovery of files, etc.

Yes the backup user interface will allow that, but we recommend that multiple backups should not be run at the same time. This is to maintain the servers performance at a healthy level.
